Plating Processes : Passivative
Passivation characteristics:
- Generally applies to stainless steel materials
- Dissolves the surface iron and enriches
the chromium content
- Good practice to passivate after forming,
grinding, machining, or lopping of stainless steel surfaces
- Improves corrosion protection
- Does not change the appearance
CSL capabilities in passivation:
- We offer all types of passivation processes,
from I to V
- Meets AMS QQ-P-35 and ASTM-A-967 specifications
- Non-dichromate process using citric acid
is available
- Processes for all grades of stainless steel
material
Applications for passivation:
- Chiefly used to increase corrosion protection
of the stainless steel material
