Plating Processes : Passivative

Passivation characteristics:

  • Generally applies to stainless steel materials
  • Dissolves the surface iron and enriches the chromium content
  • Good practice to passivate after forming, grinding, machining, or lopping of stainless steel surfaces
  • Improves corrosion protection
  • Does not change the appearance

  • We offer all types of passivation processes, from I to V
  • Meets AMS QQ-P-35 and ASTM-A-967 specifications
  • Non-dichromate process using citric acid is available
  • Processes for all grades of stainless steel material

Applications for passivation:

  • Chiefly used to increase corrosion protection of the stainless steel material
