Passivation

Characteristics:
Generally applies to stainless steel materials
Dissolves the surface iron and enriches the chromium content
Good practice to passivate after forming, grinding, machining, or lopping of stainless steel surfaces
Improves corrosion protection
Does not change the appearance

CSL Capabilities:
We offer passivation processes, types II and VIII.
Meets AMS QQ-P-35 and ASTM-A-967 specifications
Non-dichromate process using citric acid is available
Processes for all grades of stainless steel material

Applications:
Chiefly used to increase corrosion protection of the stainless steel material
