Expanded Process Capabilities at CSL

As part of its continuous effort to offer more surface enhancement services to the marketplace, CSL has recently expanded its process capabilities to include the following:

Dual Nickel: Specially tailored for the semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry, this process combines low stress, hardness, and corrosion protection.

Sulfamate Nickel: Custom-designed to suit high or low stress levels and to match customer hardness requirements.

Matte Tin: Frequently used in lead frame applications or wherever controlled re-flow properties are a must.

Reflective Gold: Meets a minimum reflectivity of 98% measured at an 900-nm wavelength. Applications include laser, microwave, and vacuum equipment.

Immersion Gold: Our self-thickness-limiting process is ideal for applications where electrical continuing is unavailable and electroplating is thus nonfeasible. Widely used in medical applications.

Precious Metals: In addition to several types of gold, CSL completes the spectrum with plating of platinum, palladium, and rhodium.

Difficult to Plate Materials: Making use of a hydrogen filled high-temperature sintering technique, CSL can work with many difficult-to-plate materials such as metal matrix composite (MMC), copper-tungsten (Thermkon®), and copper-molybdenum, as well as pure metals and alloys of titanium, tungsten, and nickel.

Plating on Non-Conductors: CSL’s unique, proprietary process allows us to plate on most plastics, ceramics, and glass surfaces. No expensive seed layer metallization is required.

Metallizing Fiber Optic Strands: Our process can meet or exceed the performance of optical fibers coated with the evaporation technique and is significantly less expensive.

Cadmium Replacement Coatings: Resulting from more than a decade of R&D, CSL offers the only proven process that meets all performance of cadmium plating. Our cadmium replacement coating passes a stringent 1000-hour salt spray corrosion test.

CSL also offers more traditional plating services, such as anodizing, electroless nickel, nickel-teflon composite coating, and electrolytic plating of copper, bright nickel, tin, silver, and gold.

CSL’s unique capabilities allow us to supply complete solutions, including polishing, plating, and Class-100 clean room packaging. For further information, visit the Services section of this Web site.
